WPL 2024: Mumbai Indians will face Delhi Capitals in the first match

The first match of the Women’s Premier League 2024 will be between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and the last tournament finalists Delhi Capitals. A total of 22 matches will be played in WPL 2024 from 23 February to 17 March.

The second season of the Women’s Premier League 2024 begins on Friday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The defending champion Mumbai Indians team led by Harmanpreet Kaur will face last year’s runner-up Delhi Capitals in the first match of WPL 2024.

A total of 22 matches will be played in WPL 2024 to be held from 23 February to 17 March. Like the previous edition, this year also five teams will stake their claim for the title in this Women’s T20 League.

All WPL 2024 matches will be live streamed and available live on TV channels in India.

During the first phase, 11 matches will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from February 23 to March 4, while the remaining 11 matches will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi from March 5 to 17. The final match of the tournament will be played on March 17 in Delhi.

Apart from defending champion Mumbai Indians and last year’s runner-up Delhi Capitals, teams of Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors will be seen trying hard for the title.

 

The Women’s Premier League 2024 features top female cricketers from around the world like Meg Lanning, Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney (Australia), Kate Cross (England), Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr (New Zealand), Nadine de Klerk (South Africa) and Hayley Matthews ( West Indies) will be seen in action.

If we talk about Indian players, names like Indian T20 cricket team and MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shefali Verma, Shikha Pandey, Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma are included.
